Trish Maskew

Trish Maskew is the founder and President of Ethica, Inc. Currently, Trish is a public interest scholar at American University’s Washington College of Law. The author of “Our Own: Adopting and Parenting the Older Child”, Trish has a special interest in the adoption of older and special needs children. Trish was previously employed as an international program coordinator for an adoption agency. She later served on the Board of Directors, and as interim Executive Director, of Joint Council, a large membership organization of adoption agencies, advocacy groups and medical professionals. In 2003-2004, Trish served a period in residence with the Permanent Bureau of the Hague Conference, where she assisted in writing an implementation manual for countries ratifying the Adoption Convention. Trish is the mother of children who joined her family through birth, foster care, and adoption.
