Dr. Manuel Manrique

Dr. Manuel Manrique, a native of Peru with degrees in both sociology and economy, has worked with UNICEF in Mexico, Cuba, Central Asia, Brazil and Colombia. Since May 2006, he has been the UNICEF Representative in Guatemala.  Dr. Manrique has worked as a researcher specializing in Latin American issues, and he has published several books on Latin America, including books on the role of the Catholic Church in social policy in Latin America and the evolution of housing policy in five Latin American countries.  Dr. Manrique worked as a journalist in Peru and other countries as part of the Latin American Agency for Special Information Services (ALASEI in Spanish), under the auspices of UNESCO.
