Janice Goldwater

Janice Goldwater, LCSW-C, is the Founder and Executive Director of Adoptions Together, a Maryland, DC and Virginia licensed child placement agency that provides a comprehensive spectrum of services to insure stability and permanency for children. A Master’s level social worker by training, Ms. Goldwater founded the agency in 1990, in response to serious gaps in the child welfare system. Her work has focused on reaching out to those traditionally under-served by the private sector and providing a holistic service encompassing permanency for children, including post-permanency support services. Ms. Goldwater’s work also has focused on the professional community by providing training on a variety of issues that impact the lives of children and their families. She serves on the board of directors of the Association for Treatment and Training in the Attachment of Children “Attach” and the Adoption Exchange Association. She also serves on the national advisory board for the All Children All Families campaign of the Human Rights Commission . Ms. Goldwater is a nationally recognized speaker and writer and is a birth and adoptive mother of four children between the ages of 15 and 24.
